Re- defining female anatomy, by Malvina Tsiora
In this process, positions based on hydrofeminism emerge and are equally doc umented, complementing notes concerning “instructions” of somatic practices that oscillate between imagination and literalness, sometimes with a realistic disposition and other times poetic or humorous, treating the body itself as a map, as a landscape to be explored.
These pathways converge, giving shape to a performance by two bodies present within the space of the installation, gradually transforming throughout its duration: from femininities to hybrid creatures and from sirens to children filled with pride for sharing, playing, and interacting with passersby/spectators. Meanwhile, another set of fluid bodies move floating in the space that embrac es the installation, distributing messages with “instructions for movement” within the space, redefining the concept of the body as triple, as liquid, or even as a sculpture within the surrounding space and time that defines it, with the aim of exploring the very nature of performance, that is, the body that is present
